Tips for Successful UX Design
How to keep your content fresh? I’ve done the research, so you don’t have to! Here are my top essential tips for successful and consistent UX Product Design. Pro Tips
Consistently Anticipate User Needs
The key to amazing and fresh UX Design is to anticipate your users’ needs or consumers continuously. Putting yourself in the shoes of someone who has never seen the product before will help you brainstorm what the user needs to have an amazing experience with the product.
- What does the user need to know to get started when using the product?
- What types of issues may the user encounter while using the product?
- Can you think of any questions the user may need to be answered before they begin?
- Are there any confusing aspects of the products that need to be addressed?
- What types of visuals would be helpful to assist the user in understanding the product?
- What text can be converted to visuals to prevent the user from reading too much about the product?
Keep the Visuals Clean and Attractive
Ensuring your visuals are clean, attractive, and consistent will make your brand and product seem more credible. In addition, following this advice will help you build a comprehensive atmosphere for your user’s enjoyment.
Show Them; Don’t Just Tell Them
Your design shows your audience how to use the product and navigate their way through their user journey. Think about reducing the amount of text they have to read and replacing it with helpful images, animations, and other visual aspects that serve as a guide. Allow your users to discover as they make their way through their journey and user experience. Lead them to the answers without blatantly telling them what to do. This will build user enjoyment and product buy-in!
Collaboration and Coordination are Key
As a UX Designer, it is in your best interests to stay open-minded and with a growth mindset. Although you may be an expert in your field, that does not mean that you know it all. Stay humble and willing to learn from your teammates and coworkers from cross-functional teams. Great teams work in the flow and help each other achieve more. Watch the video on how you can benefit from a great team.
Simplicity- Keep It Simple and Practice Responsive Design
Simplicity entails having a clean layout, a two or three-color scheme and plenty of white space, an average of two fonts, and the third one for your logo, Your graphics must have a purpose; to be both clickable and insightful. Every page should have a single definite goal. The checkout page, for instance, contains only what is needed for the process of checkout. Only contact information and/or a form are included in the contact list, not tips on personal-grooming habits.
Whitespace Is Your Friend — Use It Generously
This is one of the quickest and easiest ways to enhance your design. Even subtle amounts of whitespace will allow your designs to breathe and look more polished.
The design background color does not always have to be white. It only needs to be the space between elements of the website. White space adds simplicity and elegance to your web pages.
Here are some ways you might use white space to boost the UX of your website:
- Increase the line space for your text in the body
- Increase white space in long text blocks on the left and right margins it’s been shown to improve comprehension by up to 20%!
- Avoid putting images in line with text instead of positioning them on top or under text blocks.
- Group and surrounding related objects with white space
Page Loading Time
Your website’s loading page speed is very imperative. If it takes longer than 3 seconds to load,53 percent of people will leave your app.
Make sure that website users can quickly and easily accomplish their primary goals, without having to wait for your website to take forever to load. The load time, waiting times, and smoothness of popup animation could affect the perception of users.
Focus on Content
A designer’s job should not only end with well-structured layouts. Do not forget about UX writing. Work in a team and demand quality material. Use the language that your users are familiar with, be user-oriented; make sure that your contact with the user is transparent. Also, a sense of humor is suitable. The perceptions and experiences of users are significantly influenced by well-written text and effective illustrations or images. Again, instead of blindly following existing norms, you should do some little research about your users.
Preventing errors is better than fixing them
To err is human. Errors often occur when people engage with user interfaces. Sometimes, they happen because users make mistakes, and other times they happen because an app fails. Whatever the cause, these errors and how they are handled have a huge impact on the user experience. Users hate errors and hate the feeling that they triggered such behavior even more. Thus, you should strive to either eliminate error-prone conditions or check for them and notify users before they commit to the action.
